PLN Performing Music

Music performances are an important part of studying music. As the seventh national standard states, it's necessary for students to be able to evaluate music and music performances. This skill can be hard to cultivate because of the modern day inconveniences of traveling to and affording live performances. Thankfully, technology has a way of helping out this problem. YouTube is an excellent source when it comes to finding music performances of any sort. One can often find at least one performance of a piece. This resource can help students listen to how a piece is supposed to go, visualize a successful performance set-up for a piece, or provide a comparison for a student to make in relation to his or her own performance. YouTube gives students more opportunities to watch performances, and while it is impossible to compare a live performance to an online one, it is sometimes the best option.

PLN- Creating Music

Finale was a life-saving resource for the completion of my GarageBand project. I was worried about finding a way to get the piano part into my song, as I possess no piano skills myself. I didn't know how to record it, so I had resorted to the idea of figuring out how to play it on the musical keyboard. When I found out that I could input the sheet music into Finale to export a MIDI file to use in GarageBand. Without this tool, my project would have been infinitely more difficult. Finale made it possible for me to use an instrument I wouldn't have been able to otherwise utilize.
